Modelling and CFD analysis of the DYNASTY loop facility

In this paper, CFD assessment of the DYNASTY natural circulation loop, adopting a RANS turbulence modeling approach, is performed using OpenFOAM open source toolbox. The facility designed to investigate stability and dynamics heat-generating fluids, in particular molten salts, or forced regime as such, it one-of-a-kind, large scale for studying presence distributed heating. work, model set up validated by comparing results experimental data obtained during initial testing campaign facility, with water working fluid. particular, equilibrium state system investigated terms mass flow dynamic behaviour temperature difference across cooler section loop.
